1) E5 alp-crossing trek from Oberstorf (Austria) to Meran (Italy)
6 days, 120km length, 10,000m elevation gain, maximal elevation: 3,000m

2) Hochschwab up to the Schiestlhaus-cabin and back
2 days, 16 km length, 1,200m elevation gain, maximal elevation: 2,100m

nice hike, including a very easy via ferrata section; very nice cabin – brief hike to peak away

recommend to see the sunrise there

3) Ötztaler Höhenweg:
2 days, 26 km, 2,500m elevation gain, maximal elevation: 2,800m

4) Tour du Mont Blanc
10 days, 170 km length, 10,600m elevation gain, maximal elevation: 2,660m

1/2 day, 12 km length, 1,100m elevation gain, maximal elevation: 1,600m

1 day, 12 km length, 1,900m elevation gain, maximal elevation: 2,000m

favorite full-day hike from Vienna, in winter also nice for snow shoeing (you can also go up with the cable car for parts of the way)

1 day, 7 km, 1,000m elevation gain, maximal elevation: 2,500m

super nice, especially in fall / spring, when cable cars are not running, hence avoiding crowds
8) Adolf munkel trail
1/2 day, 12 km length, 500m elevation gain, maximal elevation: 2,000m

very easy trail, good with kids

9) Similaun
1 day, 14 km length, 1,000m elevation gain, maximal elevation: 3,600m

the second time I did the E5 cross-Alp trek, I extended it with a guided tour to the peak of Similaun over the Similaun glacier – one of the nicest experiences so far

10) Peak of Säntis
1 day, 6 km length, 1,300m elevation gain, maximal elevation: 2,500m

really nice hike and worth to hike up instead of taking the cable car

best views are on the way rather than the top

great area, also for kids; went up with the cable car and did a couple of hikes there – in winter, with snow shoes
